Why the words are written in red color?

Therefore, to help them learning reading, red color is used. After your babies are older let say 3 to 4 years old and above, you can start using black color

Why we must flash the cards very fast ?

Babies are fast learners and easily bored. Therefore you should flash the card, one card/second.
His time is so precious if you flash a card for 5 seconds or more, he will walk away from you and explore other things
Don't underestimate their brains, they would be able to catch the words and pictures within seconds

Why we do both pictures and words?

You can use either words or pictures only. But I prefer combine both.
Words are for them to read and pictures are for them to visualize the words.

My baby hasn't spoken yet, is he able to read?

The ability to read and speak is two different things.
They can read even before they could speak. When you are reading book or newspaper, do you speak too?
Reading means that they understand the meaning of words

What is the recommended age to start?

Start as early as possible, from 3 months old baby
If your kid is now 2 years old and above, don't waste time anymore, start right now with them
The window opportunity of reading begins to close when your kid reaches 4 years old

Why don't you use power point slides or DVD ?

You can use those tools. But traditional way sometimes works best.
It's advisable that we don't  introduce computer or TV to babies age 1 year and below
Besides, with the cards, you can judge by yourself whether your babies are still interested or bored  by looking at their eyes and expressions. The other advantage is you can have special bonding time with you babies.
